Throughout Shakepeare's 'The Tempest', Prospero promises his trusty servant Ariel his liberty. This poem follows Ariel on his first day of freedom, as he makes a journey which will have a lasting impact on English literature.

Eclipse - At lunchtime on 29th March, 2006, hundreds of people witnessed a total eclipse of the sun from a beach in Turkey. Sophie wrote this poem on how it felt to be there.

Light Dancing on Water - Water flows from the lion's mouth spout in the conservatory at Wallington, Northumberland, and sparks a childhood memory in this evocative poem.
