Video: Celia - The Film

Written by: Rachel Cochrane MP3 filesize: 0 MB Length mm:ss -

Celia - The Film is a zero-budget short film.  It can be viewed as the first pilot episode of a 6 part webdrama or it also works as a stand-alone piece.   It was written by me, Rachel Cochrane, who in the true spirit of listenupnorth.com, decided it was high time that there was digital media out there for those with more mature tastes in life.

I am indebted to Shirley Anne Wood for her endless patience with camera and editing and also to fine actor Penny Lamport; both gave their time for free and brought so much creatively to the film.  Thanks also to Rosie Cochrane for composing and playing the lovely bittersweet signature tune which captures the mood of the film so perfectly.

This is the story of one woman's journey and dilemma.  Is it dangerous perchance to dream?  Or is it only dangerous if we allow fantasy to give way to reality?  Celia - The Film could be viewed as a grown-up version of teenager in bedroom singing into hairbrush for instant stardom on YouTube.  I'm glad to say it's not set to a background music of Britney Spears but please help it achieve the same notoriety by telling everyone about it and sharing the link far and wide.  By creating interest I hope to attract enough sponsorship and funding to create the remaining episodes - it's a novel way of doing things but I've never been one for allowing convention to get in the way.

As Celia herself would say: 'Help us to make it viral - and I don't mean herpes'.
